Frosty Beverage Lineup

20 FLAVORS OF THE RAINBOW
Yes, this is a visual and performing arts festival and yes we have a great lineup of both. And yes, the event has also turned into a little brewery tour of the south as well. We think the two are not inclusive and honestly, both go well together. We are proud of all the hard work that Beer Girl put into this programming and with having our very own Arches Brewing a part of it, this addition only makes sense.

To help keep our area’s within the festival straight, the board has unofficially started using Beer Village and Beer Island to reference our two thirst quenching locations. (until we think of something better, or I’m told I was wrong) Beer Island will be inside the park and will be featured exclusively by our premier sponsor Monday Night Brewing. We are excited to have them on board, pouring seven different styles. This featured inside location will be alongside artist, all of our food and more importantly by the band! Don’t forget about Bumpin’ the Mango! and all our other great performances throughout the day. Beer Village will be outside the park in our Artist Walk Experience. This little courtyard will feature Monday Night, Arches, Reformation, Orpheus & Burial.

If you need assistance wth a cab or other car service our volunteer staff is ready, willing and able to help. Be smart, arrive alive.

Burial Beer Co.

The breweries participating in the LocalMotion Arts Fest are all from right here in the South, including Burial Beer Co. Located in scenic Asheville, North Carolina, Burial was recently awarded the number one spot in Paste Magazine’s “Blind Saison Tasting” for their Mixed Culture Saison. The folks at Burial describe themselves as “Asheville creativity in a fancy jar” and we couldn’t agree more! From their carefully crafted beer to the imaginative labels on their bottles and cans, Burial’s creativity will fit right in at the LocalMotion Arts Fest! They are only distributed in NC, GA, & NY, so we feel incredibly lucky to have them on the Georgia beer scene and at our festival.

Come taste for yourself on September 16th and make sure you give Burial a visit the next time you’re in Asheville.

Arches Brewing

Recently awarded a gold medal for their Mystik Bock from the U.S. Open Beer Championship, Arches Brewing is making a name for themselves, and for the Southside. Located in the arts district of our host city Hapeville, Arches Brewing focuses on old-world style beers, achieved through combining American craft and traditional brewing techniques. The head brew master is a biochemist, who uses science to manipulate the neutral City of Atlanta water. With over 38 tried-and-true recipes, including three year-round styles and a variety of seasonal lagers, there is something for everyone.

This summer the brewery upgraded to a 20-barrel, gas-fired brewing system. The first batch of Arches beer in cans should be on the market soon. Meanwhile, make sure you try out their brews at the LocalMotion Arts Fest on September 16th! And after the festival, come back to visit the brewery’s stunning tap room and family friendly beer garden.

Visit their website for more information about tap room hours and other upcoming events.

Main Beer Sponsor – Monday Night Brewing

LocalMotion Arts Fest is proud to have Monday Night Brewing as the main brewery sponsor for our upcoming event! They are a multi-award-winning brewery located in West Midtown with an additional location, Monday Night Garage, opening in the West End, a neighbor to the Tri-Cities, the weekend following the festival.

Although they claim “weekends are overrated”, brewing beers for the weeknights, we think enjoying one of their delicious ales on the weekend of the LocalMotion Arts Festival is a perfect exception! A fun and whimsical take on the brewery experience, they can be serious, too. Brewing beer with intention and purpose to strengthen human relationships and to empower one another, we value their commitment to community and are honored to have them at the festival.

Starting this fall, you can find the beers you know and love donning a new and vibrant look, with all core and seasonal beers switching from bottles to cans. Come see them at the LocalMotion Arts Fest on September 16th and be sure to check out their new digs in the West End the following weekend! For more information, go here.

Co-presenting Sponsor – Beer Girl!

Allow us to introduce you to one of the co-presenting sponsors of the festival, Beer Girl, Growlers and Bottleshop is located on N. Central Avenue in downtown Hapeville, just feet away from Jess Lucas Park where LocalMotion Arts Fest is happening on September 16th! Beer Girl is more than a growler and bottle shop, it’s a place where you can enjoy a pint with all your favorite people. The selection of beer and wine on tap goes beyond just quenching your thirst, a sense of community is also served up with every pour. Have a seat at any of the hand-crafted tables or go out back on the patio where you can sip brews while enjoying a beautiful mural from Atlanta’s very own Stephanie Lloyd.

The selection of beer, wine, cider, mead, and soda (fondly coined “kid’s beer” by the locals) that lines the industrial walls is impressive to say the least. Once referred to by a patron as “beer nirvana”, whatever your heart desires is waiting for you to take home, after you sample what’s on tap, of course!

The owner, Beer Girl herself, Alexia Ryan, is active in the community, both living and working on the Southside. Aside from running her own business, she also serves on Hapeville’s Main Street Board of Directors and the LocalMotion Arts Festival Committee. She recently spoke to Atlanta’s Regional Commission (ARC) about public art and the City of Hapeville. See her impassioned interview here.

Make sure you visit Beer Girl, have a pint, fill up your growlers, and thank Alexia for putting together an incredible beer line up for the LocalMotion Arts (and craft beer!) Festival. Cheers!

Happy Days Weekend

The LocalMotion Arts Festival is a part of the Happy Days Weekend, a tradition of 20 years and going. We are excited to be part of this weekend and look forward to contributing to its growth. In the past the Happy Days weekend was mainly a city reunion, bringing past and present happy citizens together. The main reunion has always been on Friday night and the following day a small community festival was created. By developing the LocalMotion Arts Festival on Saturday, we are excited to partner with the city to bring many more things to do, not only for the reunioners, but the rest of the Tri-Cities and surrounding communities.

Brewery Partners

In addition to amazing art and music, there will be a ton of local craft breweries at the festival that will make the experience even better. These breweries are really changing the game as some of the newest and best in The South.

Monday Night Brewing– A fun and trendy brewery in Northwest Atlanta. They’re in the process of opening a new location on the southwest side of The Beltline. They’ve also decided to join us as a Silver Sponsor!

Arches Brewing– They emphasize the importance of simplicity and quality in their trade. Even better, they’re located right in Hapeville.

Reformation Brewing– Pioneers of the idea that beer should be “free” and not institutional, super trendy, or influenced by society’s extremes.

Orpheus Brewing– A brewery influenced by mythology and art, located northeast of Atlanta.

Burial Beer Co.- A rustic and industrial brewery based out of North Carolina.

We are extremely excited to welcome these breweries to the LocalMotion team and believe it will add to the dynamism of the festival.
