As seen on MTV, AJC, Fox 5, and Creative Loafing. Placed best new in Inman Park Spring Festival, and Chomp & Stomp Cabbage Town Festival…Urban Attic is a combined artistic effort by couple, Jennie Juechter and Alexander Wright of College Park, GA.
Alexander Wright has a BA in Painting & Art History from Georgia Southern University, and post graduate studies in Design at Georgia State University. Alexander has been doing web design and animation for over a decade in Atlanta working for folks like Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Coca Cola, Phillips Design, the list goes on…
As a departure from the world wide web, Alexander has shifted focus back to his roots in fine arts with the help of his better half, together creating a blend of mixed media pop art, playing on vintage imagery with slightly modern undertones. Urban Attic is experimenting with graphic transfer on to hand-made wooden boxes, along with acrylic and guauch layering. Alexander Wright and Jennie Juechter started Urban Attic with the belief that cool art should be available at an affordable price. Tired of seeing beautiful pieces of art that came along with hefty sticker prices, they developed a method of producing modern pop art with innovative imagery while keeping the price point reasonable. Alex, with his background in painting and graphic design, creates the images graphically while Jennie transfers all the ideas onto hand made wooden boxes and tops them with art resin. You’ll notice a theme in a lot of their work, VINTAGE… with a modern twist. That same theme resonates within their motto, “Modern Art, Vintage Prices.” They work out of their converted barn / backyard studio in Southwest Atlanta. “All of our pieces are branded on the back with our bird logo and everything is done by hand so no two pieces will be exactly alike!” – Alex
